To celebrate London’s Olympics this year, adidas debuted a concept shoe that enables wearers to read Twitter updates directly on the sneakers. The “Social Media Barricade” is a pair of decked-out sneakers that are emedded with an LCD screen. To see it in action today, fans can tweet the shoe direct @adidasbarricade.

Made from a pair of original red adiPower Barricade, the social sneakers is “the future of athlete connectivity,” as adidas claims. Olympic athletes had a chance to try out these futuristic shoes at the adidas Olympics’ media lounge.
