Ever wanted to make-out with someone on the internet? Burberry has teamed up with Google on a world-first technology that allows you to pash on in cyberspace. Much like the underlying moral message of 1999 blockbuster Bicentennial Man, Burberry Kisses is all about ‘bringing emotion to technology’.

Burberry Kisses allows you to capture and send a digital imprint of your kiss to anyone in the world using ‘kiss recognition technology’ (yes, this is a thing). If you’re on your computer, you simply get your selfie on and pout at the webcam, which will detect the imprint of your lips. If you’re using a touch screen device, you can actually smooch the screen — longer screen-to-mouth contact allows you to send a ‘stronger’ kiss. Thank you Burberry for finally giving me a valid excuse to kiss my iPhone. You can send a personalised message with the kiss, and even choose an optional Burberry Beauty lip colour if you’re feeling super wink-face.

The recipient will get the kiss delivered straight to their inbox. Utilising Google Earth and Street View technologies, they’ll also see a 3D personalised journey of where the kiss has come from. If kissing and telling is their thing, they can share the kiss on Google+ and across social media.

On kisses.burberry.com, there is also an interactive global map charting in real-time where kisses are moving around the world, and which cities are sending and receiving the most kisses.
