Asos has launched a new visual tool to help customers search 85,000 product lines.
The etailer has rolled out Style Match globally, a tool it first launched for UK iOS app users last year.
It allows customers to upload a photo to the app and instantly search through 85,000 products to find similar items.
This can be a snap taken there and then, a screenshot from lnstagram, a picture of a mate, or a photo taken from a magazine.
The tool is currently shown as a camera icon in the Asos app search bar.
Although it’s too early to report back on findings, Asos has seen strong engagement with the tool and is seeing more users download images than take photos directly.
In March 2018, it will be available for Asos’ 16 million global active customers across its eight local sites on iOS and Android.
The etailer also has Fit Assist to provide size and fit suggestions to customers, as well as Your Edit to provide product recommendations based on shopping history.
Today, nearly 80% of UK traffic and approximately 70% of UK sales come from a mobile device.
On average, people spend 80 minutes per month in the app.
Asos has a tech team of 900 people, with 200 more to be added this year.
