Toronto-based company Handled has created a full-service app to connect with retail experts who handle clothing and gift shopping needs.
Now there’s an app to access personal shoppers. Founded by Shira Yoskovitc in Toronto, Handled Concierge Services has created a personalised approach to shopping, powered by technology. Understanding that busy professionals don’t have a lot of extra time in their day to spend searching for the perfect gift or new clothing, the Handled app offers it as a service.
The Handled platform allows people to easily outsource their shopping in a transparent, low-risk way. Individuals that sign up for the app go through a free 30-minute consultation where the Handled team works to understand each client, their goals, lifestyle and how the team can help them with their shopping needs. Once the consultation is completed customers are able to request as many tasks as they’d like to be completed. Everything from sourcing products, alterations and delivery are covered by the service.
Customers are able to create a profile on the app where they can set a budget and the time frame in which they need a task completed. A retail expert is assigned to each customer. Once the task is complete, the expert arranges the shipping and logistics so the customer receives their goods on time. The starting rate for Handled services is $60 an hour with a gifting service, rewards and a VIP program rolling out next year.
The number of tech-powered concierge services has increased in recent years. Mall owner and manager Simon has a chatbot concierge that connects customers with real-time information specific to their particular location through Facebook Messenger. There is also a San Francisco-based company called Robotic Industry that is releasing a new smartphone with a built-in concierge service. The digital concierge is called Sir Alan and can assist with managing seemingly any aspects of the owner’s life.
