ALDI and Instacart have teamed up to create a grocery delivery service to rival AmazonFresh in select cities
ALDI, a German discount supermarket chain, has partnered with Instacart, a same-day grocery delivery service, to test a pilot grocery delivery service in select cities in the United States. Customers can request a delivery using Instacart’s website or mobile app, choosing which products they wish to have sent to their door. Once a customer submits their order, they can expect to have it within one hour.
The ALDI and Instacart partnership puts the two companies in competition with Amazon, which is already offering grocery delivery in select cities. The online retailer created a service called AmazonFresh. However, Aldi offers some exclusive products not found elsewhere, which could entice some customers to choose Aldi over Amazon.
Instacart will deliver ALDI products to customers in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles.
