Sketchers Launches Interactive AI-Powered Retail Kiosk

If you’ve ever stood in a store and wished someone would just tell you what to buy — this one’s for you.
Skechers has just launched a new interactive screen at their new Punggol Coast Mall store in Singapore: Luna, an AI-powered retail assistant that’s part chatbot, part personal stylist, part psychic bestie.
It’s been developed in partnership with We Are Social Singapore, and it lives inside a kiosk that, well, talks to you.
Here’s how it works: you walk up to Luna wearing your usual weekend fit, and she clocks what you’ve got on. Based on your outfit, and whatever you tell her about your mood, your vibe, your running schedule, she’ll recommend shoes and clothing in real time. It’s not so much “Hi, can I help you with anything today?” and more “I’ve scanned your sneakers and moodboarded your energy. Here’s what you need.”
Why it’s more than just a gimmick
AI retail assistants aren’t new. But most of them are hidden behind an app or a web experience. Luna is standing right there, in the store. She’s physical. Present. Conversational.
And that matters. Because this isn’t about replacing sales staff — it’s about enhancing the way we shop. Giving customers a bit of help, a bit of fun, and a reason to step off the sofa and back into a store.
In the words of We Are Social’s Innovation Director, Manolis Perrakis:
“Luna is an additional touchpoint for Skechers to complement its innovative retail experience… uniting retail and online environments into a seamless ecosystem.”

The bigger picture: AI that chats back
Luna’s powered by speech-to-speech AI. That means you talk, and she talks back. No tapping, no typing — just conversation. It’s smooth. Surprisingly human. And part of a much bigger shift we’re seeing across retail and beyond: agentic AI.
That’s just a fancy way of saying: AI that doesn’t just wait for instructions — it actively helps you out. Makes decisions. Suggests stuff. Gets to know you.
And once shoppers get used to that kind of experience in one store? They’ll expect it everywhere.
Key Takeouts:
Retail doesn’t need to be digital-first — it needs to be digitally smarter. Luna’s not replacing humans. She’s enhancing the experience, adding a new layer of service that feels fresh.
Speech is the next interface. Not screens. Not keyboards. Just talking. And that’s a big deal in countries where multi-language communication is key.
Kiosks are back — but not as we knew them. This isn’t ticketing. It’s styling. Suggesting. Storytelling. And it makes bricks-and-mortar worth showing up for.
